The Work generally consists of the installation of six (6) 150mm diameter water valves within the Village of Marsden, SK. Due to the aging water infrastructure, many of the valves are unreliable and can’t close, and the entire Village water must be shut down to repair a water main break. The intent of this project is to separate the Village water network into three (3) zones, through the use of valves, such that only one zone’s water will be shut down at any time during a water main break or during construction.

The Village of Loon Lake is seeking proposals from qualified engineering and water treatment firms to perform a comprehensive assessment of our existing Reverse Osmosis (RO) water treatment plant. The intent is to evaluate the current system, identify deficiencies, and recommend options that may include:
Minor repairs or upgrades, Major retrofits or expansions, or Complete replacement, including the design and construction of a new water treatment plant and building if necessary.
The purpose of the geotechnical analysis is to assess all geotechnical considerations required for the evaluation of performance and safety of the Bradwell East and West, Candle Lake, Dellwood Brook, Russell Creek, and Altawan dams.
The scope of this contract will include analyses, modelling, and recommendations for all sites. All geotechnical aspects of the dams will be analyzed including the stability and seepage conditions under select loading conditions for the embankment. Other analyses, where applicable, include assessment for liquefaction potentials, assessment of filter systems, potential for foundation erodibility, assessment of emergency earth spillways to determine the erodibility and functionality during an event of activation, and review of the adequacy of slope protection and available freeboards of the embankments.
A final report for each site will be delivered as part of this work. Specific recommendations should be given on the performance and further study and/or possible rehabilitation of the dam systems. However, this scope will be limited to desktop study utilizing existing information provided by WSA; no field investigations or site visits are included.
