Hugonard Dam needs major repairs to bring it up to Dam Safety Standards. WSA requires the successful respondent to determine, define, and prioritize the work that would be required to bring this dam into compliance with the Canadian Dam Association (CDA) Guidelines. Within this study, the feasibility and work required to decommission this dam will also be explored.
WSA may also engage the successful respondent for Preliminary and Detailed Design, Construction Management and Project Closeout. A series of engineering studies, at increasing level of detail and cost estimate accuracy, are required to resolve the long-term dam safety issues.
WSA is a Treasury Board Crown corporation within the meaning of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993 (Saskatchewan) that is governed by The Water Security Agency Act (Saskatchewan). WSA is responsible for water management in the Province of Saskatchewan, which includes managing the Province’s water supply, protecting water quality, ensuring safe drinking water and the treatment of wastewater, reducing flood and drought damage, protecting aquatic habitat, and managing dams and related supply channels.

The Western Development Museum (WDM) Sprinkler System Upgrade project aims to enhance the fire protection infrastructure of its Saskatoon location. The WDM is seeking qualified contractors to provide a comprehensive upgrade to the facility’s fire suppression system. The current system, originally installed 50 years ago, includes wet and dry valve assemblies and sprinkler heads that are now outdated and no longer meet modern safety or performance standards. This project aims to increase reliability and bring the system up to current code.
