WSA intends to engage a Contractor to complete the following work, summarized at a high level as follows: •The removal of the original creosote weir at the Battle Creek Diversion Dam also known asWilson Weir oThe Wilson Weir is located approximately 50km south of Maple Creek and about 20kmwest of highway 21 •Construction of a new Weir consisting of a double row of sheetpile with tie-backs •Construction of a new rock ramp fishway •Regrading of the diversion canal immediately downstream of the headgate control structure •Installation of riprap erosion protection downstream of the headgate control structure •Addition of downstream stoplogs in the East bay of the concrete headgate structure Fisheries and Oceans Canada (“DFO”) has granted WSA funding approval under the Canada Nature Fund for Aquatic Species at Risk (“CNFASAR”) program. The project description, work plan, budget and cash flow will be consistent with the rules of the CNFASAR program. The project’s purpose is to understand, define and resolve the existing fish related issues to ensure compliance with regulations and the CNFASAR program.
