The project involves demolishing the existing basement water-cooled chiller, the roof mounted cooling tower, the chilled water-cooling coils, and related pumps piping and accessories at the W.G. Davies Building. The cooling system will be replaced with a new roof-mounted direct expansion condensing unit and DX cooling coils. Work includes mechanical, architectural, electrical, and structural modifications, such as removing the old chiller and cooling tower installing new refrigerant piping and equipment and tie-in to existing BMS system recently installed by Ainsworth, upgrading electrical connections, reinforcing the roof structure and provide secured access to the roof via exterior scaffolding for trades staff during construction. Coordination to ensure minimal disruption to building occupants.
