Request for Proposals – Organic Hay Land Lease
The Town of Kerrobert is accepting proposals for the lease of municipally owned hay and grass lands located adjacent to and surrounding the Town. Due to proximity to residential areas, all lands must be managed using organic agricultural practices.
Lands Included (Approx. 562 acres)
NE 13-34-23 W3rd – 72 acres
SW13-34-23 W3rd – 60 acres (behind Yukon-driving range)
W ½ Section 18-34-23 W3rd – 120 acres (60 grass / 60 hay)
E ½ Section 14-34-23 W3rd – 230 acres (grass)
SE 23-34-23 W3rd – 80 acres
Lease Structure
Base Rent: Minimum $10,000 per year plus GST (mandatory)
Cost Sharing: Additional percentage per-bale payment payable to the Town, due December 31st annually.
Key Requirements
Organic land use only (no chemical herbicides, no chemical pesticides, fertilizers only if organic)
Good land stewardship and weed control using organic methods
Commercial General Liability Insurance ($2,000,000 minimum), naming the Town as additional insured
Term of Lease is 2 years
Submission Requirements
Annual base rent (minimum $10,000 + GST)
Proposed percentage-based cost-sharing amount per bale

Proof of ability to meet insurance requirements
