This RFQ for Engineering Services is for design and construction support services at the Avonlea Dam. The Avonlea Dam is an earthfill, embankment dam located approximately 60 km southeast of Moose Jaw, SK and about 1.6 km south and 3.2 km east of the Village of Avonlea, SK. The riprap at Avonlea has been the subject of recent engineering studies including a dam safety review (DSR). While there are no serious observable erosion issues with the riprap, the existing does not meet the industry standards for size and depth in many locations. WSA would like to remove some risks noted in the latest DSR by upgrading the riprap and making other improvements at Avonlea.

WSA is a Treasury Board Crown corporation within the meaning of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993 (Saskatchewan) that is governed by The Water Security Agency Act (Saskatchewan). WSA is responsible for water management in the Province of Saskatchewan, which includes managing the Province’s water supply, protecting water quality, ensuring safe drinking water and the treatment of wastewater, reducing flood and drought damage, protecting aquatic habitat, and managing dams and related supply channels.
