Meewasin Valley Authority (hereinafter referred to as “Meewasin”) was incorporated under The Meewasin Valley Authority Act (SK) in 1979 as a non-profit corporation and is a registered charity pursuant to the Income Tax Act. Meewasin is a conservation agency for approximately 67 square km of the South Saskatchewan River valley through the municipalities of Saskatoon and Corman Park. The Meewasin Board of Directors is made up of representatives of its three Participating Parties, the Government of Saskatchewan, University of Saskatchewan, and City of Saskatoon. Meewasin delivers programs in resource management, education and experiences about the local environment and history, and the development of public facilities in the valley.
Meewasin typically employs 20-25 regular full-time, part-time, seasonal and/or term staff including two positions with Partners FOR the Saskatchewan River basin. Meewasin currently has a step-system pay structure, and most of the positions have five steps. Meewasin has one collective agreement with SGEU that covers all non-management staff. Meewasin has recently updated job descriptions.
The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to invite qualified proponents to prepare and submit competitive proposals to complete a total compensation, benefits and compensation philosophy study and analysis with a report and recommendations to address the current market, structure, recruiting, retention and total compensation.
The objectives of this RFP are to:
1. Ensure fair and equitable compensation relationships within the organization and the local labour market.
2. Provide a review of the existing structure and feedback on best practices.
3. Gather relevant information to support any recommended changes.
