2020-01 Stripping of New Gravel Quarry and Gravel Crushing Tender – R.M. of Loon Lake No. 561

The R.M. of Loon Lake No. 561 (“the R.M.”) is accepting sealed tenders for the crushing of 1 inch Modified Type 103/106 Road Gravel at NW 3-61-23-W3M.  Each tender must be accompanied by a certified cheque or bid bond made out to the R.M. in the amount of 5% of the tender amount – including both crushing and salvage amounts.

INSTRUCTION TO BIDDERS

Preparation of Tenders:

Each Bidder shall specify in its tender the unit price per cubic yard (cyd) of measurement to allow for:

Approximately 50,000 cubic yards of finished 1 inch type product (as per attached engineered specification) with 50% - 60% fracture count.

This pit may produce up to 50% reject; due to the possibility of producing reject screened gravel during the crushing process, the R.M. is also requesting a unit price cost per cubic yard of reject.

Stripping work is required at the pit prior to crushing. The R.M. will have a designated area marked showing the area to be used for crushing.  Stripping of the pit will be the responsibility of the bidder and the bidder is required to submit a listing of the equipment to be used (make/model/year) and a per hour cost for each piece of equipment to be used in stripping.

Crush must be completed between November 16, 2020 and February 28, 2021

All tenders shall include the following:

Price per crushed cubic yard of 1” (Modified Type 103/106 with 50% - 60% fracture count) road gravel
Price per cubic yard of reject screened gravel
Cost per hour for equipment to be used when salvaging
Certified cheque or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total tender (bid) amount – includes all costs for (a) & (b)
List of equipment/machinery relevant to the completion of the Gravel Crush , must be able to crush up to 36” rock (rock breaker may be required)
List of equipment/machinery relevant to the completion of stripping
Copy of an up-to-date letter of Good Standing with the Saskatchewan Workers Compensation Board
Copy of valid liability insurance (minimum $2,000,000 per incident)
PST Clearance letter, if applicable
