The purpose of this project is to complete the decommissioning of Cells 2 and 3 at the Humboldt landfill site in accordance with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and the design specifications provided by the Owner’s Engineer. The work includes grading, capping, and site restoration to ensure long-term stability, environmental protection, and compliance with applicable provincial and municipal regulations.
The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:
Earthworks: Excavation, backfilling, and compaction of soil to achieve the final contours for both cells.
Cover and Soil Placement: Placement of engineered clay, granular materials, and topsoil as required for final cell capping.
Environmental Controls: Installation of erosion control measures, drainage reconstruction, and seeding to promote vegetation establishment.
Equipment and Labour: Provision of all labour, equipment, and supervision necessary to safely complete the work.
This project will be conducted under the terms of CCDC 18-2023 – Civil Works and in compliance with NWPTA and CFTA trade agreements. The successful Contractor will be responsible for executing all work in a safe, environmentally responsible manner, coordinating with the Owner’s Engineer, and delivering fully decommissioned Cells 2 and 3.
