Future Requirement for COR or SECOR Certification on public construction tenders for the MCS -- CS-COR-SECOR

The Government of Saskatchewan is committed to construction safety and Mission Zero.

As part of that commitment, the Ministry of Central Services intends to adopt a requirement, by April 1, 2019, for all bidders on construction contracts estimated to exceed one million dollars to have achieved a Certificate of Recognition (COR) or Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR) from the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association, or been granted equivalency by that agency.

Until the implementation date above, the Ministry will continue to include COR, SECOR or Equivalency as a rated requirement on all public tenders.

Bidders that have achieved a status of Certified or Equivalency, as recorded on the Saskatchewan Construction Safety Association’s web site registry, will be awarded the full rated score in that category.  Bidders that are registered and are making progress towards certification will be eligible to receive a partial score, provided their bid includes evidence of registration and progress towards certification.
