Water Security Agency is a Treasury Board Crown corporation within the meaning of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993 (Saskatchewan) that is  governed by The Water Security Agency Act (Saskatchewan).  Water Security Agency is responsible for water management in the Province of Saskatchewan, which includes managing the Province’s water supply, protecting water quality, ensuring safe drinking water and the treatment of wastewater, reducing flood and drought damage, protecting aquatic habitat, and managing 69 dams and related supply channels.

Water Security Agency has undertaken stabilization and erosion control measures since 2015 at the Upper Qu’Appelle Channel.  The proposed work for 2018-2019 is associated with the stabilization of a portion of the Upper Qu’Appelle Channel, and includes the supply of 12,120 tonnes of granular materials and rock rip-rap, and placement of an estimated 13,800 tonnes of granular materials; and rock rip-rap for constructing five (5) rock riffle structures and 24 to 28 rock groyne structures in the Upper Qu’Appelle Channel.  The locations of the work are north of the Villages of Eyebrow and Brownlee, Saskatchewan, and near Keeler Bridge on R.M. road 643 off highway 42.   The work locations are set out in Appendix G – Site Location.
