Engineering Services - Organics Processing Facility -- COSe24-0382
The City of Saskatoon proposes to build its own organic processing facility and as such, we are seeking proposals for engineering consulting services for the facility’s design and construction. The facility would accommodate all the source separated organics from the green cart program and the organics materials currently going to the West Compost Depot. The facility would be built to a 40,000 tonne capacity to accommodate current needs and estimated future capacity. The facility would utilize an Aerated Static Pile (ASP) technology with cover. Commercial haulers would be accepted at the proposed organics processing facility and charged at a weight based rate instead of a seasonal permit. The facility is expected to be ready in 2026 and the west compost depot operations at the existing location will wind down.
