Project Description: Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways is planning to develop and implement Cold In-place surfacing (CIR) in Saskatchewan. Engineering services are required for 3 projects:
Project 1: Consultation and assessment of CIR use in Saskatchewan as well as the development of CIR Specifications, Design, and Construction documents.
Project 2: A CIR Surfacing Structure Design and a Ministry Preservation Heavy Surfacing Design on Highway No. 15 from 16.05 km west of its junction with Highway No. 45 near Outlook to 27.83 km west; Total length 11.78 km
Project 3: A CIR Surfacing Structure Design and a Ministry Preservation Heavy Surfacing Design on Highway No. 2 from its junction with Highway No. 36 to 16.45 km north. Total length 16.45 km
The total combined project length is approximately 28.23 km.
The development of the standards, specifications etc. in project 1 will be used in project 2 and Project 3 to complete the design of the CIR Surfacing Structure Design.
Engineering services are required for 2 surfacing designs, 2 tender packages for each project. Each project location will require a Preservation Heavy Ministry Standard Surfacing Design and a Cold In-Place Recycling (CIR) Surfacing Design. Each design will require preparation of a tender package for a total of 4 designs translating to 4 tender packages. The Cold In-Place Recycling (CIR) designs will be suited for the conditions found in Province of Saskatchewan.
