The Work consists of removing the entire existing low level outlet located near the east abutment of the dam, disposing and replacing it with a new low level outlet and spillway structure. The structure consists of an inlet, 1524mm inside diameter (ID) precast concrete pipe, gate well, drop inlet, 2438 mm ID precast concrete pipe, vault structure and stilling basin structure. Work will be facilitated by a coffer dam.

Additional work includes construction of a fuse plug for the west spillway located at the west end of the dam and replace a portion of the clay fill with granular material for the fuse plug located on the right bank of the Herbert Canal.

WSA is a Treasury Board Crown corporation within the meaning of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993 (Saskatchewan) that is governed by The Water Security Agency Act (Saskatchewan).  WSA is responsible for water management in the Province of Saskatchewan, which includes managing the Province’s water supply, protecting water quality, ensuring safe drinking water and the treatment of wastewater, reducing flood and drought damage, protecting aquatic habitat, and managing 72 dams and related supply channels.
