The Wascana Rehabilitation Centre provides comprehensive medical rehabilitation programs for adults and children, as well as specialized long-term care. A wide variety of programming, including Functional Rehabilitation, Amputee Services, Spinal Cord Injury Services and Orthopedics, Children's Services, Adult Rehabilitation, Extended Care and Veteran's Services, are available to meet the particular needs of clients. The Centre serves the population of southern Saskatchewan.
DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE(S)
Pharmacy Services to Pharmacy Services- Wascana Rehabilitation Centre 2180 23rd Avenue Regina, Saskatchewan including any services provided under the guidelines of the Long-Term Care Home and The Special care home guidelines within Saskatchewan Health Authority.
Equipment required: -
• Replacement of medications carts with narcotic lock box as required (up to 6)
• Replacement Medication organization system for med rooms required (up to 79)
• 2 electronic pill crusher per unit (up to 6)
• Narcotic waste storage container one per unit (3) – identify sizes available
• Replacement of locked night cupboard medication system as required (1)
The preferred medication dispensing method for Wascana Rehabilitation Centre is strip packaging for regularly scheduled medications. In addition, the packaging method needs to separate PRN and scheduled narcotics and benzodiazepine (controlled medications) from regularly scheduled medications, with a preference of controlled med card packaging for the controlled medication, with staff signature and count Wascana Rehabilitation Centre is not currently using eMAR but may will be required in the future.
