SaskTel requires a real-time reputation DNS data feed from a DNS Reputation Data Provider. The data feed will be integrated into SaskTel recursive BIND DNS server's Response Policy Zones so that our DNS servers can selectively intercept DNS resolution for known-malicious network assets including domain names, IP addressed and name servers. The feed must work with ISC BIND as described below: DNS Response Policy Zones (RPZ) was invented at ISC and first implemented in BIND, but it is an open and vendor-neutral standard for the interchange of DNS Firewall configuration information. Each of the vendors listed offers proprietary data streams based on their own research. It is possible to subscribe to more than one data feed from a vendor, and to subscribe with multiple vendors. The easiest way to assess the efficacy of one of these blocklists is to subscribe for a trial period, and see how many abuse queries are subsequently blocked. ISC does not test, certify or recommend specific RPZ vendors. RPZ data feeds from any of the vendors below should work with BIND: Farsight Security; Deteque; SURBL; SWITCH; ThreatSTOP

Further more, the DNS feed provider must meet the following mandatory requirements:

• The DNS RPZ feeds must work with our SaskTel DNS infrastructure which is Bind latest version. No dedicated appliances.
• The feeds must be granular means multiple ZONES.
• Vendor must have a mature product, used by Internet Service providers.

Vendor’s solution must have an automated process to deal with items that should not be classified in the DNS RPZ zones.
