This Request for Quotations (the “RFQ”) is an invitation by the City of Regina (the “City”) to prospective respondents to submit non-binding quotations for 2025 Tree Pruning Services, as further described in Section A of the RFQ Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”).
It is the intention of the City to obtain a contractor to carry out the pruning of elm trees and other deciduous trees at specified locations within the City limits as stated herein. Street trees are identified as required for pruning on an area (sector), then street, then block basis. The intention of contracted tree pruning is to assist in-house services to achieve a 1 in 10-year pruning cycle goal for all street trees.
Most of the trees identified in the RFQ are elm and are subject to the Provincial Dutch Elm Disease (DED) regulations/elm pruning ban. To respect provincial regulation, the timeline for the project is to be completed from January 15, 2025 to March 31, 2025; with finishing work (if required) to be completed in the fall after September 1, 2025. The contract must be completed in its entirety, with final billing received, no later than November 23, 2025.
For the 2025 pruning contract there are 2,294 trees that are identified for pruning with a contractor. The trees identified are divided into 3 packages.
Package 1 = 694 trees (various species)
Package 2 = 1,053 trees (various species)
Package 3 = 547 trees (elm only)
Vendors may bid on any single package or all packages or combination thereof. This is vendors preference.
