Blowdown Evaporator -- 2526-025
SRC is inviting quotations for the Blowdown Evaporator (“the Project”). When mutually agreeable between SRC and the successful Respondent, any resulting agreement may be extended to cover additional related requirements for the next approximate five (5) year period.
The purpose of this Request for Quotations (RFQ) is to identify respondents able to meet SRC’s requirements in an economical and timely manner, and to identify a respondent with whom the Proposed Agreement can be executed. General requirements are provided in Section 4 of this RFQ. Please note that final requirements are subject to change.
SRC will evaluate and identify the quotation that provides the best overall value to SRC, including but not limited to aspects pertaining to technical features and options, qualifications and experience, Indigenous inclusion, pricing, delivery schedule, after sales support, references, clarifications, negotiations and any other aspect of the products or services quoted, as determined by SRC in its sole discretion.
Notwithstanding any provisions otherwise stated herein, it is the intention of SRC to award to one respondent.
Selecting a vendor for the supply of a Blowdown Evaporator for SRC’s Environmental Analytical Laboratory (EAL). Initially, SRC was considering a PFAS (Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) nitrogen blowdown system for evaporation, but later decided air may also suffice.
SRC is looking for a Respondent who can deliver the instrument in a timely and cost-effective manner and do so with excellent customer service.
4.2 Scope of Supply
Nitrogen (or air) blowdown system
4.2.1 Potential brands include Biotage and Labconco, but SRC may be interested in alternative brands/configurations.
4.2.2 Preferences:
• Rack to accommodate 15mL polypropylene centrifuge tubes (length 12cm, diameter 17mm)
• Heater capable of reaching 60 degrees C
o Preferred dry bath
o Water bath acceptable
• A covered system to prevent and reduce contamination
o Not required to be sealed.
• Capacity
o Minimum 16 tube capacity
o Preferred 24 tube capacity
• Solvent resistant
o Mainly evaporating methanol.
• No Teflon/PFTE
o Will mainly be used for PFAS analysis
4.2.3 Optional
• Rack to accommodate 50mL polypropylene centrifuge tubes (length 115mm, outer diameter 29mm)
4.3 Certification, Codes and Standards
The following hierarchy of codes and standards shall be followed when preparing the design:

All prices should be quoted Incoterms: DAP-Saskatoon.
