This Request for Proposals (“RFP”) is an invitation by Living Sky School Division No. 202 (LSKYSD) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the provision of Wireless System Upgrade, as further described in the RFP Particulars (Appendix A) (the “Deliverables”).

LSKYSD is requesting proposals from qualified companies for the supply, delivery and installation of a hardware and software solution to provide a wireless network throughout all schools and offices in LSKYSD.  LSKYSD will be shortlisting proponents and then asking for sample units to test out and evaluate as part of the final evaluation process.

LSKYSD is looking to hear from Tier 1 computer vendors, or their resellers/partners, in this RFI.

Project Greenfield is an idea to remove all student and staff devices in the summer of 2026 and deploy brand new devices with a full 5 year warranty, at a ratio of 1:1 for staff devices and 2:3 for student devices, approximately 3400 student devices and 400 staff ones.  LSKYSD would then pay for these devices over the 5 years before beginning another cycle of replacement in 2031.

Project Greenfield is meant to level the playing field across the division, by providing a consistent ratio of devices for student and staff use, while also maintaining a warranty on the devices so repairs can be offloaded off the IT Team, freeing up their time for other projects and work. 

The proposed timeline for Project Greenfield’s RFP is as follows:

RFP is issued in October 2025

RFP awarded by January 2026

Devices arrive prior to summer 2026 for setup

Payment 1 is September 1st 2026, with remaining payments occurring on September 1st of subsequent years

The ultimate goal of Project Greenfield is to create a predicable, fiscally responsible, painless replacement cycle of student and staff devices.
