Pine Grove Correctional Center is hiring one Cultural Advisor/Elder to provide Cultural services for Offenders for a five year contract commencing July 5, 2021 to July 5, 2026.

The contractor shall provide First Nations and Metis Cultural/Spiritual Services, including, but not limited to:

(a) Must have the skills to provide cultural and spiritual teachings within the Correctional environment

(b) Facilitating a program which focuses on the role of First Nation and Metis women in a cultural context

(c) Provide individual mentoring services with female clients

(d) Provide the delivery of traditional ceremonies including, but not limited to, the sweat lodge, pipe ceremonies and sharing circles

(e) assist in providing or gathering ceremonial necessities as needed ie: rocks, sage and sweetgrass

Corrections shall pay the Contractor a sum of $33.00 per hour for services performed to their contract, with a proportionate part of that amount being payable for periods of less than an hour. It is anticipated that the contractor will provide approximately 40 hours of services at the Centre per week.
