This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Saskatchewan Power Corporation (“SaskPower”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the provision of Nipawin Hydroelectric Station Breaker – Design and Supply, as further described in the RFP Particulars (Appendix A) (the “ Work”).

SaskPower is a Saskatchewan Crown Corporation continued under The Power Corporation Act (Saskatchewan).  It is principally responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity for most of Saskatchewan.

This Contract is for the design and supply of 600VAC breakers complete with adaptive devices required to replace the existing Federal Pioneer breakers in the existing switchgears at Nipawin Hydro Station. This Contract also includes the design and supply of new 600VAC transfer bus switchgear complete with a remote control/mimic panel.

Location of Site:

The Nipawin Hydro Station is a hydroelectric generating facility with an installed generating capacity of 255 megawatts (MW), consisting of three 85 MW units.

The Nipawin Hydro Station is situated on the Saskatchewan River, ten kilometers upstream from the town of Nipawin, Saskatchewan.  Nipawin is situated approximately 400 kilometers north of Regina, Saskatchewan.
