Cutting, Removal & Clean-Up of Downed Trees in Murray Point, Great Blue Heron Provincial Park -- PCSGBHPP2018
The project will involve the removal and clean-up of 350 downed trees within Murray Point campgrounds, day-use area and trails located at the Great Blue Heron Provincial Park. Saw logs will be salvaged for the park's use. Any remaining debris and wood will be hauled to the designated area 3 km away. The area has a healthy understory of vegetation. Cutting, removal and clearing practices must attempt to minimize impacts to the understory vegetation. The supplier must have (as a minimum): certified chainsaw operators, a mid-sized hoe with thumb on rubber tracks, skid steer with grapple, trucks and trailers to haul debris, previous experience working within a park setting or a minimum 2 years' experience with forestry operations.
