WSA intends to engage an engineering consultant to complete the following work, summarized at a high
level as follows:
Phase 1: Design to replace the Wilson Weir structure located on Battle Creek that also includes a rock
riffle fishway. Design to address the fish entrapment issues occurring immediately downstream of the
Headgate Control Structure along with the ongoing erosion issues occurring.
Potential future scope is anticipated to include but not limited to procurement, construction and close
out services.
Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (“DFO”) has granted WSA funding approval under the
Canada Nature Fund for Aquatic Species at Risk (“CNFASAR”) program. The project description, work
plan, budget and cash flow will be consistent with the rules of the CNFASAR program. The project’s
purpose is to understand, define and resolve the existing fish issues to ensure compliance with
regulations and the CNFASAR program.

WSA is a Treasury Board Crown corporation within the meaning of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993
(Saskatchewan) that is governed by The Water Security Agency Act (Saskatchewan). WSA is responsible
for water management in the Province of Saskatchewan, which includes managing the Province’s water
supply, protecting water quality, ensuring safe drinking water and the treatment of wastewater,
reducing flood and drought damage, protecting aquatic habitat, and managing dams and related supply
channels.
