IT Security Review -- SPSA-RFP-2024-049
The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) is responsible for the Sask911 system and provides province-wide access to 9-1-1 emergency call taking. In part, operations of 911 system occur through the Provincial Emergency Communication Centre (PECC).
The SPSA has contracted services within the PECC that are provided by an independent third party (contractor). Recently, SPSA systems were accessed via unauthorized methods by an employee of the contractor. The integrity of the 911 system was not affected. The SPSA has conducted an internal review of the incident and will brief the successful proponent on method, scope and findings of this investigation as well as share relevant documents.
The successful proponent will provide an assessment of IT within the PECC to ensure that there is a outcomes-based culture that embraces security and compliance, and that necessary management policies and practices are in place to meet the expectation of the SPSA and its stakeholders.
