SHA intends to reduce overall costs while improving quality and service through technical innovation. SHA invites vendors to provide proposals for the supply of Analyzers for Transfusion Medicine Testing and associated supplies for it’s lab locations. SHA would prefer the Analyzers with built-in LIS Interface and Software to connect with it’s Lab Information System (LIS). The Vendors are asked to provide proposals for Manual Testing Reagents also for use in Transfusion Medicine.

This RFP sets forth the key requirements for the Analyzers for Transfusion Medicine Testing and solicits a detailed response from vendors that shall include service, quality, technology enhancements, pricing, and performance commitments.
Please note, the current Lab Information System (LIS) vendor for all sites is Soft Computer Consultants (SCC). The analyzers will need to be interfaced with the LIS at individual sites with the exception of Moosomin, Weyburn and Estevan – where there is no LIS module in place for SoftBank.
SHA requires the following to be included in the RFP proposal:
• Automated Analyzers for all high/mid volume locations. Testing includes ABO/Rh, direct and indirect antiglobulin tests, phenotyping, transfusion reaction investigations, antibody screens, antibody identifications for donor RBCs products (confirmatory testing), inpatients, community services and Bone/Tissue Bank. These locations also perform crossmatch and antibody identification testing for the Saskatoon City Hospital (SCH) and St. Paul's Hospital (SPH) during off shifts.
• Semi Automated Analyzers for All Low volume locations. Testing includes ABO/Rh, Direct Antiglobulin tests, Antibody screens, and Cross matches.
